Milton Erickson, a well-known hypnotist and physiatrist, is quoted as saying, “All I did was give a look of confident expectation. Now that’s the important thing. An infant learning to walk, you know he can learn to walk, but the infant doesn’t know. You give the infant the confident support of your expectation.”

This is exactly what hypnosis does is to give you the support and expectation you can become confident at whatever you are attempting to accomplish.

How Hypnosis for Confidence Works

As a hypnotist, my role is to give you that confident expectation to your subconscious mind during hypnosis. The suggestions planted in the subconscious mind during hypnosis then begin to affect your perceptions and actions during everyday life.

Hypnosis works by re-educating the subconscious mind and taking back control over the thoughts feelings and behaviors that you cannot control with the conscious mind or by “trying harder.” To “try” is to lie. The subconscious mind will negate anything we tell ourselves we are going to “try.”

As your confidence increases after a few hypnosis sessions, you will notice that your goals get accomplished simply and easily. When you reprogram the subconscious mind to increase your self-confidence you almost go into an auto-pilot. Without a great deal of effort on your part, the thing you were feeling fear, worry, anxiety over simply fades away.

The results are subtle, and you will feel as if you were always confident about the situation you used to fear.
