A recent sports hypnosis case study

I have recently worked with several sports performance clients. For me, it’s enjoyable and rewarding when a client like you becomes amazed at their own level of dramatic improvement.

In fact, the last three sports performance clients included:

  • a basketball player
  • a National Youth Hockey player
  • a semi-professional skate boarder competing for a national sponsorship

When working with a client like you (or your child), the approach involves tailoring each sports performance program to be specifically designed for the athlete involved.

Let me share with you a recent case study…

I recently worked with a person who I’ll call “Jon.”

Jon is a 17 year old young man who has been a skate boarder since he was 5 years old. He is home schooled and coached by his father and practices full time, usually about 6 to 8 hours a day. With 12 years under his belt he is, by most standards, an expert in his sport.

But Jon recently had a serious injury after doing a fakie 360. And ever since his injury he has not been able to perform many of the “tricks” he has been doing for most of his skate boarding career.

Essentially, he came to me for fear of falling.

However, sometimes it’s the case that the fear of falling has other under lying issues. After working together for the complete program (three sessions) he was able to do his fakie 360. What’s more, he placed in the top 10 in his last competition and qualified to go to the finals in Tampa.

So what changed for him during our sessions?

He realized by the end of our sessions that his issue wasn’t about his fear of falling at all. So we dealt with his underlying issue and he was finally able to resolve his issues.

I smile just as I type this and think of his success.

Sports performance hypnosis works because you depend on your subconscious mind while you’re playing sports. It’s what gives you the ability to act within a split second and make the play or score the goal or the basket.

By allowing the conscious mind to take a break during hypnosis your subconscious mind will hear and absorb everything you need to perform at your highest pinnacle performance. Your subconscious mind can either work for you… or get in the way.

And hypnosis helps train your subconscious mind to work for you, allowing you to reach (or exceed) your goals.
